Bruges is, just like Paris, always a good idea. Even during the most grey, cold days in March this idyllic city keeps its charm. Since Bruges has pretty much become our second home we’d love to tell you all about our new fave place to be (and yes, of course it’s a foodplace)… Bruges wouldn’t be Bruges if the city centre wasn’t crawling with tourists on a Sunday afternoon. So, lunch in Bruges requires a little bit of planning, patience and a long list of hotspot back-ups. We could tell that ‘That’s Toast’ is an absolute success with locals as well as tourists. The pure yet cosy vibe makes us feel like we’ve been transported to Amsterdam on a fresh spring day (although it was like minus 6 degrees outside). The interior, filled with plants and warm wooden furniture, makes you feel at home right away.
After a little while (well, half an hour to be exact. But hey, it’s Sunday! We’ve got time) the friendliest young man greets us with what seems to be a little piece of art on a plate. The menu consists of a variety of toasts (duh), but also healthy juices, breakfastdishes, sweets,… For the perfect lunch we would recommend a toast, a side dish and a juice or two (they’re pretty small for their price – but hella delish).
Warning, don’t scroll down on an empty stomach. A warned man is worth two…
